Come light
Something
fresh.
Lets Light is a small public-realm lighting and electrical studio. We look for people who truly care about how a place feels after dark.
Open
roles.
Lighting design engineer
Lead lighting and electrical design on public-realm schemes, concept to construction.
The role
You'll work directly with our Director on live commissions across our project pipeline: a mix of lighting design, electrical calculations, producing drawings and schedules, and supporting design risk and CDM deliverables. We work across a wide range of project types and sectors, meaning there is genuine room to grow into running schemes yourself.
What we're looking for
- Design experience in lighting, electrical or building services — what you can do matters more to us than how you got there
- EngTech registration preferred (or actively working towards it); a degree is not required
- Comfort with technical detail, British Standards, industry guidance, and best practice
- Clear written communication and an organised, self-directed style — home-based working rewards people who manage their own time
- Right to work in the UK
Nice-to-have knowledge: Lighting Reality, DIALux EVO, AutoCAD, ElectricalOM, Unreal Engine 5, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
What we offer
- £32,000 salary
- 9-day fortnight (every other Friday off, without working extended hours)
- Fully remote with flexible hours (core hours 10:00-16:00)
- Device-off policy after hours, no expected response outside of business operating hours
- 24 days annual leave, Christmas shutdown (1 week), day off on your birthday
- 1 day per quarter for volunteering or community work
- Enhanced parental leave
- Funded development pathway towards EngTech / IEng, with CPD support through the ILP and SLL
- Healthcare cash plan
To apply
Send your CV and a short note on why this role appeals to you.
What you
can expect.
Small studio, real ownership
From day one you're working on live schemes: lighting, power and control for real public spaces, from early concept through to construction.
Craft over churn
We'd rather do fewer projects properly. Room to detail things, to learn, and to see them built as drawn.
Seen through to site
You'll stay involved from early design through approvals and onto site, so the work you put in actually gets built.
Don't see
your role?
We post openings periodically. If you're the right person, that timing shouldn't stop you. Tell us who you are and what you'd want to light.
